Davidoff Cool Water for Women is a lightly fruity oceanic aquatic fragrance. A 90s fragrance that (to me) epitomises the fresh clean vibe of the era. This isn't a scent I grew up wearing or smelling around me but, just like Anais-Anais, I longed to one day try it for myself, and so with thanks to my sister gifting it to me - here it is.
Davidoff Cool Water for women is not a loud bodacious scent. It has a light sweet fizzy citrus metallic melon scent that only delicately clings to the skin and clothing. It's the type of scent that I have tested over the years contemplating whether or not it is actually worth purchasing and always leaving it in-store - no matter the greatness of the deal. This is not to say that it's a bad scent, it's just a very light fragrance that pales in comparison when contending with other scents in my collection as the longevity and projection are weak at best.

So what's the appeal? ... Well, for me, it's the bottle and the timeless advert. Yes, the fragrance does make me imagine the salty smell of sea surf on damp cool skin but, I'm unsure if the bottle had been different, I would have longed for it as much as I did. Yes, it is iconic in its branding (beautiful imagery) and the scent itself does work as a palette cleanser for the weary maximalist looking for a change but, the beauty in this scent fades too fast for me to actually enjoy it throughout the day ... Ultimately, if you are into fresh light close to the skin scents and don't want your fragrance to walk around with you during the day - then this may be a fragrance to look into.
Have you tried this scent?
