The other day I saw Helen, who blogs at Beautifully Superfluous, do the Lipstick TAG and I loved reading her answers so I thought I'd do the tag as well! This tag was created by Maxi who blogs at The Lipstick Blog, go over and read her answers, as well as Helen's!
Over the past year I've loved lipstick more and more, whilst it isn't a product I wear everyday it is a product that I love wearing. Most of my collection isn't too bold or bright, maybe I'll get a bit braver when it comes to colour in the future!
How many lipsticks do you own?
Not including tinted lip balms or balm stains/lip crayons I have 12 lipsticks which compared to the average person is a lot but for a beauty blogger I think that is pretty good! However if you added my tinted lip balms and lip crayons to that number it would go up quite a bit! I had a clear out a few weeks back so now I'm down to the lipsticks which I do actually use regularly.
What was your first ever lipstick?
I'm pretty sure it was Natural Collection's Lipstick in Apple Blossom. I remember everyone on youtube raved about it all the time and said it was the perfect pink nude that didn't make you look dead. I was so excited when I bought it, I was 14 at the time. I was so disappointed though, it made me look dead and stupid! So my first experience with lipstick wasn't a positive one unfortunately! That experience put me off them for a while!
What is your favourite brand for lipstick?
Highend wise MAC wins it for me as my 3 MAC lipsticks are the only highend lip products I own! For highstreet I'd say either Seventeen or Bourjois, both are affordable yet pigmented and creamy, they are such a joy to use.
What is your most worn lipstick?
My most worn lipstick is probably MAC's lovelorn, I don't wear it as much any more (I prefer Creme Cup and Syrup) but when I first bought it in January I used it so much in that month and the months that followed it!
What is your favourite finish?
My favourite finish is the lustre finish, I love that it isn't glittery and it has the perfect amount of shine for me. I'm not a big fan of matte lip colours but also I don't like anything that is really really glossy and shiny so this is a happy medium for me.
What was the last lipstick you bought?
I really can't remember as I haven't bought any makeup in months!
How many lip products do you currently have in your bag? (including glosses and balms)
I have 2 lip balms and a lipstick! I think I'll definitely be taking out the lipstick as I don't think I need it in there unless I am going out and wearing that particular shade. I always have to have a lip balm on me though and those 2 never leave my bag.
What lipstick do your use to rock a red lip?
I'm not a massive fan of a red lip as it is a little too bold for me but I do like Revlon's Lip Butter in Candy Apple which is a less pigmented red, so that is what I use to rock a red lip!
How do you store your lipsticks?
I keep some of my favourite and most used lipsticks out in a nail polish holder alongside my favourite/most used nail polishes. Then the rest sit with my lip crayons and glosses in one of the medium sized draws in my makeup storage. I don't like the way I store my makeup at the moment, I'd love to get some muji storage and a lipstick holder.
What lip products are you currently lusting after?
I really want to try the new Rimmel Lip Crayons/Balm Stains! Also Bex from I Always Believed in Futures keeps on raving about the Soap and Glory Lipsticks so I'd love to try them at some point.
